WHAT IS PLAR?
PLAR stands for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition. It is a powerful process that validates and recognises the skills, knowledge and competencies you’ve gained through various learning experiences – informal, nonformal, or formal.
With PLAR, skilled individuals without certification can achieve the Trinidad and Tobago National Vocational Qualification (TTNVQ) or the Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ), unlocking new career opportunities and gaining the recognition they deserve.
WHY PARTICIPATE?
- Fast-Track Your Career: PLAR enables you to receive formal certification for your existing skills, helping you jumpstart your career.
- Save Time by Recognising Your Prior Learning: PLAR can reduce the time and cost of certification associated with traditional education and training programs. It eliminates duplication of learning.
- Enhance Employability: Stand out to employers with a validated portfolio showcasing your diverse skill set and experiences.
- Access to Further Education: PLAR certification can be used towards further education and training programmes, opening doors to advanced learning opportunities.
- Boost Confidence: Gain recognition for the skills you already possess, boosting your confidence and motivation to pursue further opportunities.
